I think that you can still find these but they are all made in Germany and are expertly crafted. I don’t think that even Michaels’ can beat the garage sale price of…$.50 for the lot!

Weekly Garage Sale Find: Art of Sewing
HURRAH! The local library sale…a buck a book!
Time Life issued this 16 volume series in the 1970s called The Art of Sewing. I am missing one of them, but the book sale had almost the whole collection. They are fantastically 70s and each book is covered in a real fabric that exemplifies the subject of that particular book.

Garage Sale Find: Yarn
I’ve posted about my Saturday garage sale hunt obsession before so I thought I would start a weekly entry of what treasures I found….
Guess What’s inside?
It’s like a box of candy…one red skein is missing, but it’s almost too darn yummy to even think of using any of them.
There are 120 of them (okay 119) and I also found the booklet from 1971 that advertised these promotional boxes of new wool skeins for $40!
Garage sale price…$5 for the box.
Garage Sale Find: Hand Towels
I just cannot pass up a garage sale.
The thrill of the hunt, the amazing bargains, the salvaging of treasures from filling landfills. But most of all, it’s the guilty pleasure I take as I sneak out of the house leaving my husband to get breakfast for the kids and drive, bleary-eyed, five minutes down the tree-lined street to…my parent’s house.
I go to garage sales every Saturday. With my mom. Just the two of us. Every Saturday.
