Garage Sale Find: Knitting Yarn
Well, this week I found two massive bags of knitting yarn for my friend, Sue, here at work. I know that a lot of us are cross-crafters, but as I am not a knitter, I couldn’t tell if the yarn was good or not so I didn’t take a photo. Hurrah! I found these six needlework titles from the Japanese publisher Ondori.
They still publish a lot of fabulous books within the fiber arts category and all of these ones from the 70s have the classic Japanese attention to detail:
And I just love this spread–it’s called ‘Our Neighborhood’. Wouldn’t you love to have neighbors like this?!

Garage Sale Find: Fabric
Not too much this weekend. I found some fabric from a gal who used to make burp cloths for boutiques until she had her third child and time was no longer her own. All three for $.50.

Garage Sale Find
I love finding a quilter hosting a garage sale. This week, I found some of my favourite batting: Warm and Natural, as well as a couple of bags of poly fill ($3 for the lot). I also picked up three books from Debbie Mumm and one old one called Country Quilts in a Weekend ($.25 each) which is so funny to look at as it is amazing how far we have come in so little time with regard (Continue Reading...)
Garage Sale find” Bag of thread
I found this bag full of goodies all for $3.
There were lots of threads and beads inside, but I fell in love with these Japanese silks.
I tried to use them for some embroidery this weekend but when I went to use them, the fine fibers kept of catching on…well, everything. They were lovely to feel but working with them was…challenging. Still, lots of other goodies inside that don’t make me feel like I need (Continue Reading...)
