Spring Baskets

Decorated Baskets

I donated 33 petal pots to my daughter’s kindergarten class. The teacher and I thought they would make perfect spring baskets to hold the eggs that the class will be dyeing.

I painted the pots 6 different spring colors, using only 3 acrylic paint colors and lots of white (red, blue and yellow). I used a Japanese screw punch to place a hole on 2 of the sides for the handle.

I then used artist’s tape on the inside to hold down the (Continue Reading...)

Tea Party—Invitations

The birthday girl

My Toddler is now a young girl; she just turned 6 years old. Alivia wanted to have a tea party for her birthday so I found a cute little bistro, New Englund’s Bistro and Tea Room in here in Concord, CA. The tea party started off with a presentation about tea etiquette and what a “lump of sugar”  is. The girls enjoyed tea, lemonade, finger sandwiches, cupcakes, a story about a tea party and feeling all grown up in their pretty (Continue Reading...)

Accordion Preschool Memories

Sitting on my desk is a READY-TO-GO accordion book.

Last year I purchased 25 Accordion Blank Board Books, as a donation to my daughter’s preschool classroom. I gave them to the teacher and asked “Do you think you could use these for something?”

I didn’t give her any suggestions on what she could possibly do, just to see what she might come up with. I was surprised, along with the rest of the parents, at the end of the year “graduation” (Continue Reading...)

Happy Birthday, Teacher!

All the kindergarten students were asked to bring a flower and a card for their teacher’s birthday.

I remembered that Sue Astroth did these really fun big cards with our display boards. I asked her to refresh my memory on how she would make it and of course she had a lot of great ideas that she is so willing to share. How lucky are we to have people that we can talk to about craft ideas, sewing, quilting, knitting (Continue Reading...)

What to do with all those little GBS embellishments?

I love our Gift Box Studio books. I have used the boxes and cards for many gifts, but I have a lot of embellishments left over. I was trying to think of what I could do with all those cute little pieces and came up with some fun little GBS critters. I only used the GBS embellishments for these, but I could see embellishing them with all sorts of craft goodies. Glitter, beads, yarn, fabric, buttons, thread, fibers and any (Continue Reading...)

Crafty Party-Gift Idea

My 5-year-old princess was going to a friend’s birthday party. I wanted her gift to be something fun and unique, not the same old Barbie doll. My daughter Alivia and I love to make crafts together, so I figured her friend likes to, also. I thought the Ready-to-Go! Indie File Box would be the perfect size box to fill with craft goodies.

I then discovered that the Ready-to-Go! 1 1/2″ blocks fit perfectly inside the file box and are (Continue Reading...)

My Favorite C&T Ads

I’ve been working on ads all morning, so I’m taking a break from ads, to look at ads that we’ve done through out this last year. I know it doesn’t make sense, but in a way, I think it does. Sometimes it helps to look back at what we’ve been doing, to see how things are progressing and to make sure that we’re being consistent.

The ads that we’ve been doing this past year are really new for us. About 6 months (Continue Reading...)
