What’s in My Cube
Teresa wrote a couple weeks ago about the interesting things she has in her cubicle, and I thought I’d share what’s in mine. (Because, honestly, what’s more fun than a little healthy voyeurism!)
*Now keep in mind that I took these photos after I tidied up my cube. I normally have a stack of color proofs, prototypes, and other miscellany.
Fabulous Fabric Art Giveaway Winner
Congratulations to Dale Ann Potter, winner of our first book giveaway.
I use alot of unusual things as I LOVE going to the thrift stores and find all kinds of goodies to use on my art pieces. Sometimes its a kitchen gadget that can be used to make marks on my fabric using stamping methods or soy wax batiking method, or a FABULOUS silk tie that is cut apart & used. Everything is fair game!!!

On the Road Again
We’re going to be at the CHA Tradeshow over the next few days. If you’re going to be there, come by our booth and say “hi!” We’re # 2035. Rebekah Meier and Daniela Costa will be teaching, and you can get a sneak peak at our new books and products coming out this season.
Don’t worry if you can’t make it though…we’ll be blogging from Anaheim so you can partake in the fun!
Sew with Sara Video Promo
A few months ago, we had one of our new authors, Sara Trail, host a pajama pant-making party at C&T. Much fun was had by all as these beginner sewers worked through a project in Sara’s new book (available in May). Sara’s DVD comes out next month.
Remembering 1983
Hope you all had a happy Christmas and we wish you a happy New Year!
2008 was a momentous year—our 25th anniversary! We’ve done a lot of reminiscing around the lunch table on how things have changed in our industry over the years. I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and and see what my coworkers looked like in 1983. Enjoy!
Save Handmade!
Handmade child’s hat from mosey.etsy.com
A lot of talk has been circulating online about the CPSIA and the heavy restrictions that will be placed on toymakers and manufacturers of children’s products. Unless changes are made to this legislation, a whole lot of small companies and crafters will be forced to go out of business. I encourage you to spend a few minutes to become familiar with this legislation and contact your state representatives. Thank you!

Here’s a sneak peak at one of our new “At Home with the Experts” DVDs, Jane Dávila & Elin Waterston Teach You Art Quilting Basics. These women are absolutely amazing (and they also have great blogs…check out Jane’s here and Elin’s here).
Waiting for Addison
For the past few days, those in Production and Editorial have been popping their heads in Tim’s cube to see if he’s still there. Every time his phone rings, we hold our breaths. Could it be time yet!?
You may remember that a few weeks ago, we held a baby shower for Mr. Awesome Production Coordinator, Tim Manibusan and his wifey Jen. Well, today is baby Addison’s due date, and we’re all very excited (though not nearly as much as Tim, (Continue Reading...)
