New Video: kraft•tex™ – A Kraft Paper that Performs like Fabric! and a Giveaway!

kraft•tex™ is an exciting new product that C&T Publishing released May of this year—and the buzz is already tremendous!

Kraft-Tex

Our very own Betsy LaHonta filmed a video about the product and the really cool ways our Creative Troupers (and editors, and marketing peeps, and sales team, and anyone who has had the opportunity to play with it!) have put this new surface that is like fabric, leather, and paper, into action!

Betsy has also written aFREE pattern for this stunning market bag.

Betsy’s inspiration for the project came from true serendipity!

“When my daughter was going through one of her growth spurts and her ankles seemed to be popping out from under the hem of her pants seemingly overnight, she decided one day to turn several pairs of her jeans into shorts by cutting off the legs. I couldn’t bring myself to throw away those long pieces of beautifully distressed denim, and so they sat in my scrap bag for several years. Enter our new product, kraft•tex, and it was a match made in heaven. The natural colored kraft•tex was a perfect complement to the soft blues. I pulled out those leg pieces and came up with a long, skinny tote, perfect for the Farmer’s Market or the library.”

Free Project Kraft-tex used with denim to create a market tote bagPlease let us know if you make one of these awesome totes — we can not wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Giveaway! We are giving away a roll of kraft•tex™ to one lucky winner! Residents of the U.S. will receive a roll of kraft•tex™ and international winners will be invited to choose an e-book of their choice. The giveaway closes on Friday, August 30th. Good Luck!

My first thought was that it would be a marvelous medium for pattern making, or for making a trial fitting or muslin garment. It could be used in bookbinding, It would make great gift wrap because the recipient could re-use it to make something for themselves. This looks like great stuff! :)
