Earlier tonight I attended the International Quilt Association Awards at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas. In this annual show, Quilts—A World of Beauty, there were so many gorgeous, perfectly-crafted quilts, and we were lucky enough to be there to see some of our authors win this year’s awards. And a few C&T’ers won more than once!
Anna Faustino, author of Simply Stunning Woven Quilts, won two awards; the first was third place in the Art – Abstract, Small category for her quilt, Funky Reef. The second was third place in the Innovative Appliqué category for her quilt, Empire State.
Another winner was in C&T’s own Digital Imagery category, with the first place award going to Gloria Hansen for her Refracted Lily quilt (above).
Susan Brubaker-Knapp, author of Point, Click, Quilt!, won the third place award for her quilt, Maximum Cat Nap in the Art – Miniature category.
Debby Kemball, author of Beautiful Botanicals, came in second in the with her Euphoria quilt in the Traditional Appliqué category.
David Taylor won two awards in the same category, Art – Pictorial; he won third for Marmalade’s First Snow and first place for Maynard. David’s work is featured in one of our postcard sets, The Art of Quilts Postcard Collection—Animals.
And the really exciting news is Kathy Wylie, author of Sewflakes…she won The Founders Award worth $7,500 for her amazing appliqué quilt, Flourish on the Vine.
You can see all the award-winning quilts on the IQA’s website.
Please join me in congratulating all of our C&T winners!

I create a leave a response whenever I especially enjoy a post on a site or I have something to contribute to the conversation.
Usually it’s triggered by the fire displayed in the article I browsed. And on this article C&T authors win big at the IQA Awards at Quilt Festival. I was excited enough to leave a leave a responsea response :-P I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it’s okay.
Is it only me or does it appear like some of the responses come across like they
are left by brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you
are writing on other online sites, I would like to
keep up with anything new you have to post. Could you make a list every one of all your communal pages like your Facebook
