Now that we’re done with the Van Gogh Slice Quilt (which by the way, raised over $3,000 for the NAMTA Foundation) we’re trying to decide what to do for next year’s raffle quilt, and we want your suggestions.
The criteria are:
It must be a familiar / recognizable / iconic work of art.
It needs to be in the public domain (generally meaning it was created over 100 years ago)
It needs to reasonably translate to fabric.
That’s it. Leave us your comments with your suggestions.

Sunday Afternoon on the island of Grand Jatte by Seurat would be great for the next group quilt – Although it is full of people there are no faces and it has wonderful bold shapes.
I’ve always wanted to do Klimt’s “the kiss”

Though I highly second the Seurat suggestion. I was lucky enough to see it in person years ago.
How about American Gothic?
Anything by Modigliani …. would be fabulous.
Water Lilies or Starry Night
What an achievement! It is a work of art.
How about whistler’s mother?
