In her new book Quilt Remix, which is just about to hit store shelves, Emily Cier spins our favorite traditional quilt designs into 10 very contemporary projects. Her take on the Log Cabin, Nine-Patch, Pinwheel, Dresden Plate, and many more is fun and fresh and the book includes projects for beginners, intermediate, and advanced quilters.
Check out Emily’s blog for a fantastic series of blog posts called Unmixing Remix that offer previews of the project quilts in the book with a ton of photos, and include a lot of background info that usually only an author is privy to.

- Carol Doak’s Foundation Paper

Hope I win! But even if I don’t, thanks for the opportunity!

I like the Lone Star Quilt best!
I like the one on the cover. It’s interesting and unusual. I’d love to make my version of it.
this book is really intriguing and it’s already on my Christmas list, so if I win I can bump up my #2. I am fascenated by the lone star quilt and I’d love to try the pattern because I’m recently feeling more confident with piecing angles..
I like her version of the lone star quilt…the one with diamonds. A diamond quilt is on my list of to do quilts…I think they are so elegant a shape. The colorway with the blue/green was my fave.

I love traditional patterns made in unique contemporary ways. It’s a hard to choose between the Ohio Star and the Pinwheel quilts. I’m looking forward to seeing this book in person!
I love the colors in the ohio star version. And it looks so beautiful against the foggy surroundings. That would be fun to make and quilt.

I heard about Quilt Remix in your newsletter. My favorite quilt is the Storm at Sea, I love the way the triangles seem curved, and the green version is crisp and bright. My second favorite is the remix of Lone Star in pinks, very sweet quilt.
I love the pink/blue/green Lone Star quilt! Miss Maeve certainly has a good eye for colors. I love the twist on the traditional patterns. I;m glad i found the link on facebook.
I’m with Mauve, the Ohio Star in the mix of two fabric lines is my fav! The texture, the color, and yet a basic design, who would have guesses. Great book, can’t wait to see up close and personal.
I love the Lone Star Quilt in pink, blue and green. This book will be very interesting.
The greeny grey storm at sea variation is stunning. I also love the pinwheel 1 quilt – in fact I found it hard to pick a single quilt. I would love to win her book – thanks for the chance.
I like the Pinwheel 1 quilt best. The colors are great but what I like most is the applique done in such a free way. It prompts me to finally give applique a try!

I like Maeve’s Choice. For some reason the diamonds call to me and the fabric also beckons. Not to mention it looks so nice as Maeve’s cape!!
What a great giveaway! I love Emilys work. I think my favorite quilt in this book that I’ve seen is the Lone Star. It has an argyle feel to it that I love.

I love the lone star quilt, it’s perfect!
Maeve’s Choice is my favorite of the one’s Emily shared on her blog. I probably will never do a traditional lone star quilt, but I’d like to tackle this version. There are so many possibilities: use fabrics from a favorite line, use a favorite color scheme, fussy cut, or just go scrappy!

I really like circles of all kinds and the circle quilt on the cover is sensational! What a great remix……

I love all the quilts. They are such a fresh approach. I have always loved storm at sea quilts and particularly like Emily’s version. I also like the framed diamond approach to the lone star quilt and of course I would have to make the cover quilt. It is much fun.

I think my favourite would be the lone star quilt. I don’t know if it’s the colours, or the pattern which have captured my attention, but I absolutely love it.
I really like the Lonestar quilt, especially in the colorway she featured on her blog. The pinwheels are also so gorgeous, especially against the red background.

I love the Storm at Sea quilt
I love her Storm at Sea variation- I’ve not yet attempted that block because the pieces are soooo small, but as one GIANT block it would be much more doable! Love it. Might have to add that book to the ever-growing Christmas wish list. Thanks for the giveaway chance!
Storm at sea…or the diamond version
I love this pattern : Emily Cier’s Nine Patch in Quilt Remix. It looks super easy and a great use of fabric stash!

I love the “floaty things” on your own wall. Great idea. And I love the rug in your daughter’s room too. Looks like some great ideas to update traditional designs. Good on ya!
From the photos I’ve seen, the pinwheel circles quilt on the cover is my favorite. I like the randomness and freedom of the design. Can’t wait to see all the others inside!
