Critter Stuffies are so much fun! As these guys started forming under my paintbrush and sewing machine a smile was glued to my face. Ruby & Elloise seemed to be beaming happy to be here. My 7-year-old daughter took one look and said, ”Mom, lets make a whole world of them!” She was on it in no time, and Rubberband Sam was born!
This is an anything goes project that not only allows but encourages mistakes. The inspiration and instruction came from Diana Trout’s Critter Stuffies project in Cloth Paper Scissors.
Main ingredients include: scraps of canvas, Liquitex® Acrylic inks and paint, Derwent Inktense pencils, and scraps for ears.
Simply cut your rough shape, splotch on inks and paint a white face. Use a Sharpie pen to add doodles and a face. Add random stitches using various thread colors and stitch styles. Sew up the edges with with your ears in place, then stuff it!
You too could whip one up today and find yourself spontaneously giggling!
