I am so excited about our line-up of October titles and products I just couldn’t decide which one to focus this giveaway on. Then my mind wandered to thinking about Halloween and how fun it is to go trick-or-treating and come back to have a pumpkin head pail full of all different kinds of candy. I remember how as a child it seemed like the huge variety of goodies I got was the most amazing part.
Then I thought back to our line-up of books and products this month and saw that there was quite a variety in the mix—appliqué, modern quilting, sewing, gifts, surface design materials, strip-piecing… And I thought, why not give away all of them?
So this giveaway is meant to excite you the way that pumpkin pail full of different candy did, when you came home after pounding the pavement on Halloween night as a kid and dumped the pail out on to the floor to see what you had. Below is the full line-up of October books, from both C&T Publishing and our Stash Books imprint, as well as our October gift and surface design products. Two lucky commenters will win all seven new releases!!
- The Ultimate Appliqué Guidebook by Annie Smith
- Elly Sienkiewicz’s Beloved Baltimore Album Quilts by Elly Sienkiewicz with Mary Tozer
- All-Star Quilts by Helen Frost & Blanche Young
- Carol Doak’s Keepsake Frame Cards
- Derwent Inktense Pencil Set of 6
- The Practical Guide to Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman (Stash Books)
- Scandinavian Stitches by Kajsa Wikman (Stash Books)
As I said, two lucky people will win this collection of our October releases and to be in the running all you have to do is leave a comment here or on Facebook telling us which of these new books and products you are most excited about and why. Comments will be closed at 9am PST on Monday, October 18th, 2010 and the winners will be announced later that day.
Extra comment entries are available to you if you want to maximize your chances at being the giveaway winner! If you take one or more of the actions listed below, enter an extra comment for each, and in that comment tell us what you did and link to the proof where that’s possible.

I am excited about the new Elly Sienkiewicz’s Beloved Baltimore Album Quilts by Elly Sienkiewicz with Mary Tozer. The designs are so artistically complete.
The Practical Guide to Patchwork looks FABULOUS! What a wonderful giveaway – you could create for years w/ these resources!
I can’t wait for Practical Guide to Patchwork. I follow Elizabeth’s blog and I love her quilting sensibility. I can’t wait to see the projects she’s cooked up for her first book.
I think Elizabeth Hartman is one of the most thorough, detailed and amazing quilters, so I am extremely excited to get my hands on her book. She always has such clear directions, simple and straightforward ideas and a methodical, well-thought out approach to her creativity. I know there will be a lot of information in that book, not to mention gorgeous quilts.
Really excited for The Practical Guide but could definitely use the Ultimate Applique book as well! Thanks!
I just love Elizabeth Hartman’s blog and her modern take on quilting. Her eye for color and fabric is so inspiring and I would love to own her book!
I am sooo excited for the Scandinavian stitches book. My family is from Sweden so this is very interesting to me. Although the stash books are pretty great too. Actually there is not a bad one in the bunch!!!!!!

I am excited about •Elly Sienkiewicz’s Beloved Baltimore Album Quilts. I love her work and almost got into a class with her a few years ago. Someday I will make it.
It is a toss up between what I love to do (Practical Guide to Patchwork) and what I’d love to learn to do (Scandinavian Stitches) and what I love to watch my son do (the Inktense pencils). Thanks for this wonderful opportunity!
It is very difficult to think which one is of more interest as they all are fascinating.Since I’m a fan of applique I’d say that Elly Sienkiewicz’s’ book would be at the top of my list. However the Scandinavian book is exciting too. Thanks for the opportunity to win so much that is of interest. =!=
Great mix of books coming out… Several of them look very interesting for inspiration or gifitng to unsuspecting quilting friends.
Elly’s book would be top of my list, but all of them look fascinating
I was interested in the Scandinavian Stitches, then I saw the quilt from it, now I’m excited about it. Something different. Love it.
I am looking forward to Elizabeth Hartman’s new book. Her blog is great and all of her tutorials are extremely well done.
That’s a great collection of books! I would love, love, love to win any one of them; all of them would be marvelous. Thanks for sharing.
The Beloved Baltimore Album Quilts book looks very exciting to me. I love applique and I’ve done a bit of Baltimore applique. Would love to do some more. Thanks for a chance at these fabulous prizes.
Hello again! I just signed up for the Stash! newsletter so I could enter again – woohoo! I really need the Patchwork book and desire the postcards and pencils; we looked for the Inktense pencils just this past weekend after hearing how great they are.
Thanks again, Suzanne G in NC
Oh Boy! What to choose? Had the same problem as a kid, wondering which goody to scarf first! I think I`d go with the All Star Quilts book. It all looks yummy to me!

Wow, I’d love to have all of them, but as to which I’m most excited about, it’s a toss up between the 2 applique books and the Norwegian stitches. Love all things Elly, and the wreath shown in yoru sample of the other book is lovely. I’m Norwegian, so all things Scandanavian are appealing. Not to leave out the piecing … love piecing too!
Hope I win! But regardless, thanks for the opportunity!

Scandinavian Stitches appeals to me because I recently visited Stockholm and loved the clean look of their crafts and would like to try some out. Still winning them all would be a bonus, because I love Annie Smith, colored pencils and stars. What a giveaway. Thanks. Kathie L in Allentown

I’m most excited about Annie’s new book .. I’m sure it is fantastic. This is the first I’ve heard of Elly’s Baltimore Album, and it looks amazing too. Love Carol’s cards too.
I am looking forward to seeing the applique books – they look beautiful!
Hmm, hard to pick just one. I Love to do hand applique, so either of those books would be great. But the Scandinavian Stitches sounds intriguing. Thanks for offering the books.
I’m already a subscriber to you newsletter.
I would love to see the beloved baltimore album book. I have been a fan for quite a while and have learned so much from Elly’s books already. Thanks for the chance to win.
Am longing to see inside Scandinavian Stitches, from the snippet’s on Kajsa’s blog it looks wonderful and I am a big admirer of her work.

As a Scandinavian I ought to be very interested in that book, but I have my heart set out for appliqué, so those two books would become treasures to me. I even went from Norway to Williamsburg (USA) to take part in Elly Sienkiewicz’s appliqué class :) A great experience!
What a fabulous collection of books that have so much you could create and enjoy. The Practical Guide to Patchwork looks amazing and would see many family heirlooms being made and treasured.
Thanks for such a generous giveaway.
I have a C&T and Stash badge on my blog: http://artquiltmaker.com/blog.
I really would like to win this prize pack. I am really curious about a number of the books you have coming out. I admire Elizabeth Hartman’s work and am interested in seeing her book. I also have been following the adventures of Annie Smith’s book writing. I have all of the Elly Sienkiewicz previous BAQ books, but would love to see the new patterns and inspiration. I am still interested in making a BAQ,b ut I haven’t figured out whether it will look as good if I do one by machine, because I know I can’t face all of that handwork. Most importantly, I need a boost. Bad week at work, so this would make my day.
Great selection! It would be hard to choose which could be a favorite but I’m more of an applique fan by choice. But I like a challenge!
I like the look of “Practical Guide to Patchwork”, I read her blog and love the quilts she makes.

Because I love foundation piecing, I am most excited about Carol Doak’s frames. I am interested in the Scandinavian quilts, and the patchwork book also. Actually, all the books are an amazing collection for all who want to spread their wings and try something new!
This is the first I’ve heard about the Inktense pencils!!!! Oh my gosh! I would LOVE to win those! Of course your entire prize package is a wonderful, GENEROUS giveaway! I would be soooo excited to be selected as a winner, but so would the other 200+ (so far!) entrants! Thanks for the giveaway!

You have a fantastic selection of books. Every subject pertaining to great quilting is covered. What more could you ask for!
How wonderful! I adore Elly Sinkiewicz’s work.
I am excited about the All Star Quilts by Helen Frost and Blanche Young. My mother passed away several years ago and she loved star quilts. I try to make one star quilt each year and give it to a family member in her memory. Can not wait for this to hit the market.
It has to be the All-Stars Quilts. My two main interests are training search and rescue dogs and quilting. To my way of thinking all search dogs are stars.
I am extremely excited about the Embroidery guidebook, I have recently started doing hand applique’ and embroidery embellishing. I used to do lots of handwork and had gotten away from it and am starting to do it again. Am looking for new ways to utilize my machine and do the handwork together.
I am most excited by Elly Sienkiewicz’s Beloved Baltimore Album Quilts. I have all of her books and use them all the time.
Thanks for the great giveaway.
The Scandanavian Stitches, it’s just in time for the holidays an gift giving.

I’m most excited about “Scandinavian Stitches” by Kajsa Wikman!
I love the Ultimate Applique Guidebook. I find applique (both by machine and hand) very relaxing. I love to hand applique because it is very portable. I have been able to applique at home, in a car, waiting for appointments and at work when it’s not busy.
Oh they all look great!! For my traditional-self part I am excited about All Star Quilts because I love stars and star quilts and made lots of them! But there is also my artistic-self part that wants to try those Inktense Pencils as I venture more into fiber-art!! Either way I love your blog and inspirations you provide, thank you!
It’s gotta be Scandinavian Stitches. With family in Sweden and a Danish crafty friend, it’d be the perfect way to tune into the Scandinavian vibe. But really, I want it all…Thanks for the opportunity to win such a great selection!
I’m really excited for The Practical Guide to Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman. I’m an avid follower of her blog, and since she announced this book I’ve been excitedly waiting for it!
What a line-up of books! It would be hard for me to decide between the The Ultimate Applique’Guidebook (I’ve seen Annie’s & her students work at quilt shows) and the Scandinavian Stitches book because of the whimsical glimpses you have given us.
I’ve subscribed to your Youtube channel in addition to this comment – I’ve tons of your supplies and books, esp in the art quilting and mixed media area, and love everything!
Please enter me into your drawing. My top book from the list is The Ultimate Applique Guidebook. Thank you for this opportunity.
All titles are exciting, but to narrow it down . . . the Scandinavian Stitches appear most fitting for winter sewing. The idea of hand stitching “Folksy Littles” is inspiring!
My favourite title would be the – The Ultimate Appliqué Guidebook by Annie Smith
A great array of prizes! I am interested in the Scandinavian Stitches book and the Derwent pencils.

What a great set of books and supplies. I love the Carol Doak Keepsake Frame Cards. Even if I don't win, I'll have to buy

I’d love to try the Derwent Inktense Pencil Set and I love “The Practical Guide to Patchwork” by Elizabeth Hartman because I love her quilts and tutorials.
My favorite would have to be the Baltimore Album book. I’m drawn to it because it is SOOOO out of my skill league… like a moth to a campfire :)
