This ongoing series of poems attempts to express the “Aha”s and “What if”s, the deep ponderings and casual observations of an inquiring mind trying to make sense of reality. May it serve, for you, as a bit of “Everyday Inspiration” along your own creative path.

Mowing the lawn yesterday I found myself reluctant to mow over yellow dandelion flowers even though they’re theoretically weeds in the lawn, because then I’ll miss having dandelion seedheads and the magic of blowing them…
Yes!!! I like your style, Marion!
A weed is only a flower that grows in the ‘wrong’ place. When you want the dandelion, it’s no longer a weed but a flower bringing surprise and joy to your day. I fear many of us see ourselves as being out of step with the rest of the world as it’s portrayed on billboards and magazines and television — weeds. I like to think we’re like the dandelions, unexpected and serendipitous, bringing beauty and joy to those who see us for what we really are — flowers blooming defiantly above the unbroken green of the grass.
