When my friend, Loralee Windsor, was helping me out while I was recuperating from an easy foot surgery a short while ago, she spent some time at my bookshelf and then made off with one of my Super Simple Quilts series books. She brought it back the following weekend, having made three lap- or wall-size quilts—one of each of the three designs featured in Super Simple Quilts #2 with Alex Anderson & Liz Aneloski!
She rated “So Woven” as the easiest project in the book…
“So Simple” was slightly more challenging…
And “Just So” was the most difficult…
However, considering she finished all three in just one week, they all certainly live up to their “Super Simple” name.
I love the fact that you can buy your fabric, then decide which of the three designs in the Super Simple book you want to make. Now Loralee is anxiously awaiting the next book in the series, which will make use of pre-cut fabric packs, so the quilts will be even quicker to put together!
Super Simple Jelly Roll Quilts with Alex Anderson & Liz Aneloski will be available this June

What fun! Love the fabrics.
I’m really intrigued by the Just So pattern. I have to get out there and buy some Jelly Rolls! Great color choices on all three but THREE in one week? Who is this WonderWoman??
It’s amazing how a talented colorist can take such simple designs and make them into works of art. This is the type of book that helps get beginning quilters on their way.
I am delighted to hear that you are donating copies of the books to women’s prisons.
I really enjoy seeing the examples you show from patterns in the books you publish. These 3 quilts have especially good fabric choices. I will look forward to Alex’s next book with patterns for precut fabric.
Look like fun books! And Alex is so talented!

I especially like the “So Simple”and “Just So.” I really do love the colors. I bought a couple of yards of a black and white tulip print fabric at the Voices in Cloth quilt show and just was struck with the idea of making a black and white version of “Just so”. Or maybe I would add some color. Very tempting.
What fun to see my quilts on your blog! “Just So” and “So Woven” went to live with my mom and the family of one of my nephews, but “So Simple” graces the pale chartreuse wall of my dining room.
Thanks for the kudos about my output, but I think the whole process (piecing, quilting, and binding) took longer than a week although all the piecing was done in that time.
I love these quilts! Each one looks like “pops” of fun and whimsy…nothing near being dull or mundane!
