This sounds like a wonderful way to learn from the experts, something that I really need to do! I’m sure they can help me draft better blocks/quilts.
    Thanks!

The one skill I’d really like to improve is my applique. I would love to try out a few patterns but I’m intimidated by applique for some reason even though I’ve done it before.

My half square triangles are lamentable. I am working hard on trying to make an actual square out of them instead of a trapezoid.

The “skill” I need most help with is getting to it! I seem not to get to the sewing machine often enough or regularly enough. I do small projects and would like to take on some bigger ones.

Harriet Hargrave is one of the best in the quilting world when it comes to how to make a quilt.
This would be a valuable reference set to whomever the winner may be.

I watched my mother & grandmother quilt for as long as I can remember. Taking scraps & feed sacks, they turned them into beautiful quilt tops and then lovingly hand stitched them into treasured keepsakes. Now that they are gone and I can’t ask them for help, I want to do the same for my family but need to update skills to use more modern technology. Any help is always appreciated.

I would love to improve on my quilting with my domestic sewing machine. I am also very hesitant to do applique, so that would be something to work on as well. Thanks for such incredible giveaway!

For some reason I have trouble with straight lines all of a sudden, that would be my first thing to work on, I don’t know what has happened lately. Also I want to do more curves. I have only ever done 1 curvy quilt and it was beautiful but difficult as I am self taught.

I love to see that you have graph paper designed for quilting. The heavy lines every three squares (on the side I can see) makes drafting 9-patches or 12″squares so much easier. I have a hard time finding anything but four squares to the inch with the heavy lines every inch. Fine if you want to draft something full size, but hard to work to scale unless your block fits perfectly.

What I’m really eager to learn more about (and to greatly improve my skills ) is machine quilting, at this point on my regular machine, but I hope someday on a long-arm. I’ve done a little hand quiilting, but that’s pretty much out of the picture now. I have quite bad arthritis in my hands, and in the last two years have had five finger and thumb joints fused. And when my hands aren’t hurting, they are numb! So looks like I need to focus on the machine quilting.

I’m impressed with your giveaway. I believe even experienced quilters will find things to benefit them in books 1 & 2. And the All in One Reference Tool sounds so handy and looks like it’s the size to easily fit in your purse when you go shopping.

I have it in my quilting bag so that it is with me whether I am in my sewing room or off to a guild meeting. I have so many quilt ideas floating around in my head, but it’s hard to get them on paper. I would really enjoy learning the drafting techniques these ladies have to share with us!! Thanks for the chance to update our libraries!

I started quilting in the fall of 2007, when I learned I was losing my job. I had to take some time off after I was diagnosed with cancer in Aug. 2008, but I am back at it. I have the basics, but need to work on getting my blocks more true to the correct size. Sometimes they are 1/4 to 1/2 inch off. I have a lot ideas for quilts but I need instruction on designing and drafting my own designs and determining block sizes and fabric requirements for the blocks I design. I would also like to learn how to quilt my own quilts. I would love to win this group of instructional materials. I think they would help me tremendously to meet my goals.

I would also like to learn to make quilts that my great-grandmother seemed to make with ease, no matter how bad her eye sight. Any help or ideas on making my own quilts would be wonderful. I tend to get overwhelmed when I go to the craft/fabric stores to purchase tools or books to use for quilting. I don’t know what to buy, tool wise, or what books would be the most helpful. This package seems to have everything I need, all in one place.

My challenge, always, is getting points to meet, especially with odd angles. It is fine with paper piecing (usually) but king sized quilts with over 700 pieces is not tenable, or cost effective. I suppose ironing on spray starch might help. Sewing curves is easier for me!!!

I REALLY want to master free-motion quilting on my home machine. I can handle small pieces, but anything over a small wallhanging, I’m intimited trying.
