Before Jan’s Lone Star book, I admired this classic pattern but was never compelled to make it…creativity of Jan’s designs inspired me instantly, it was one of those great ah-ha moments!! Since then, I am a fan!

When you look at this one quilt I see you could use it in a landscape quilt by just changing colors and adding trees, foreground. It would be great to play with the diamonds and see if you could made an ocean scene. The play of colors and gradual changes are beautiful too. Who wouldn’t love to have this new released book for their library. Thanks for sharing.

I love all of Jan’s books – have them all. I’ve spent a huge amount of time just looking at the quilts in the Lone Star book. Perhaps the most frequent thing I do is cut my strips like she does – do the math and start with the cut that uses the most of the ruler, then slide the rule to each cut without moving the fabric just cut. She explains it a lot better than I do. I would love to win this package. I would share the diamond templates as I already have them. Thanks for having this contest.

I would like to have the Jan Krentz Teaches You to Make Lone Star Quilts DVD. I think the DVD would be fabulous as 1) I’d love to quilt with Jane and with the DVD, it would be a fun, more personal experience I’m sure, and 2) I’d really love to know how to make a Lone Star Quilt. This is a pattern I’ve long admired!

Thank you so much for the chance to win this prize pack!

It’s hard to choose – they’re all gorgeous – but I am drawn to the half-diamond Thousand Pyramids project. It’s an exciting adaptation of a traditional design. I was fortunate to hear Jan speak at our guild meeting this month (York Heritage Quilters Guild in Toronto, Canada.). What a treat to meet her and see her quilts!

Jan Krentz has a great quilting style. She is a great teacher and I love her books. They are very descriptive and easy to follow. In Diamon Quilts & beyond she gives lots of projects for quilts of different sizes. I really like that she provides a placemat project so you can try out the techinque before you invest in a big quilt. Lots of pictures and examples in the book. Thank you Jan Krentz and CT Publishing for continuing to provide quality quilting books.
