Question: What happens when you combine your mom, your sisters and lots of fiber?
Answer: You get fabulous fiber scarves!
A while ago I had my mom, Carol, and my sisters, Jennie and Antoinette over for an evening of fiber fun. We had three sewing machines going with tons of fibers, and ended up making four scarves together.
Everyone had a great time plowing through all the yarns, fabric, ribbons and other stuff. It was exciting to see how unique each of our creations were. My sister Jennie got bit by the fiber scarf-making bug so bad, she immediately had to go buy more Solvy so that she could give her friends a fiber scarfing lesson!
Now everyone is wearing their scarves wherever they go, and are enjoying all the compliments they are receiving. If you haven’t tried your hand at fiber scarves yet, you really should because they are unbelievably easy to make. This looks like so much fun. I'll have to suggest this as a workshop idea at our guild. I can just imagine how much fun a whole ROOM full of ladies will have and the selection of fibers they would bring.BeSewCreative Quilt Retreats~~~ UPCOMING 2010 RETREATS~~~Quilters of ALL Skill Levels WelcomeMarch 11-14, Bunnell FLJune 3-6, Leesburg FL Sept 16-19, Deland FL Nov 5-7, Leesburg FLhttp://www.BeSewCreative.comCissy33@BeSewCreative.com

Nice Rhonda, I'll see what I have in storage.
I sure hope we can work this into our upcoming guild workshops for the new year. It would be so much fun swapping, and playing with all the unique yarns, threads, and fibers that our ladies would bring. Even if everyone only brought just ONE skein of yarn/fibers… that would be more than 50 different yarns/fibers.
looks like a lot of fun, not to mention creativity……
