We recently offered a Liquitex® Surface Design Center Training for shops and authors. We borrowed a room from a local quilt guild, covered the tables, and unleashed a lot of creativity and paint. It was an opportunity to try out the acrylic paints, inks, and mediums that are part of the Liquitex® Surface Design Center which will appear in quilt shops this January.

Surface Design Center Training
Participants created washes of color…

Made sunprints…

Used acrylic inks on silk fabric and on cotton…

Made monoprints, and more…

At the end of the day C&T Author Judy Sisneros won the “Messiest Apron Award” and received a free copy of my DVD Lynn Koolish Teaches You Printing on Fabric.

A fabulous time was had by all.

Looks like everyone had fun and created some really delightful items! Such fun. Can’t wait to see this product, when it is officially released in 2010!

Looks like alot of fun! Never thought about painting with gloves on though. More fun to just get messy. Love the apron.
That would be a fun workshop to take.
I need to remember to look for them, when I hit the craft stores again.

I sure hope the quilt shops in my area have some class time with this! It looks so fun and a great way to start printing.
Oh my! What a fun way to spend a winter day! I’d love to have that display in my home!
