I've been inspired to try and make little bendy dolls with felt clothing- My friend and I are going to have a craft night for them! I'd love to win the WoolFelt!

Now this is an interesting product! I have never heard of it. Of course I know what wool is and what felt is, but WoolFelt? I’ve been quilting for 5 years and recently began experimenting with more artsy types of quilts, along with my favorite pieced projects. So, if I were to win this I would definitely find a way to use it in a quilting project. I’d also do an on-line search for free projects that use it. I did notice a potholder on one of the links you provided. I’d try something small and easy first.
Thanks for the opportunity to try something different!

I would use the felt for next year’s Christmas wall hanging quilt. I will have made 7 this year by Christmas time and plan on making as many next year too.

  6. Posted December 15, 2009 at 10:26 am | Permalink

I definitely would experiment with it, and make some flowers, leaves, paisleys, etc., to decorate some bags/purses. Thanks for giving me a chance to win.

What a wonderful gift for someone to win. It would be an honor to make an applique tabletopper with the prize. Projects made with woolfelts are so beautiful, warm and fun to do. Who doesn’t love a beautiful tabletopper made with love?

    Merry Christmas.

Beautiful colors! I want to make a blanket.

I am wanting to experiment in piecing together the wool and creating my own design of a jacket. Another thought I have is playing around with the felt to make some clothes for little girls.

  10. Posted December 15, 2009 at 10:44 am | Permalink

I’d make some gingerbread & snowmen ornaments for gift tags & use some on tablerunners. Maybe even make some pins & headband embellisments.

  11. Posted December 15, 2009 at 5:45 pm | Permalink

I would make a landscape block entirely out of wool and then embellish the details with embroidery. Wool feels soooo good to hand stitch through.

I love to use felted wool. I have made an applique wallhanging. I also do rug hooking, table runners, pin cushions, and needle cases. They all make wonderful gifts or to sell at your local quilt show. What wonderful colors these packs are.

I’d embellish a wool melton coat I’m making. I’ve used wool felt before as appliques on traditional Eskimo parkas, and maybe I’d use some for that too. thanks for the chance to win and play with wool!

  16. Posted December 15, 2009 at 11:23 am | Permalink

Oh, my goodness, how long it has been since I have seen felt made of wool! As a youngster, I made hats of wool felt. Now I would likely make purse accessories, ipod pouches, etc.

But part of the creative process calls for knowing the material. I think I would have to get acquainted before deciding a direction.

I love wool felt! It’s probably my favorite thing to work with. I made a huge advent calendar last year made entirely with wool felt and I just love it. It’s really wonderful for handwork and I use it for embroidery a lot. In my current “want to do” list, I’d probably use it to make a felt mailbox pretend play set, a cute felt purse in a heart shape from a pattern by Betz White, and actually something for me…I want to embroider a clock for my craft room and I’d use the wool felt to applique the design. I also have two wool felt wall hangings in progress for the holiday that I probably won’t finish until next Christmas!

Funny how this is the prize right now. I just downloaded a pattern to make some woolfelt owl ornamnets. I was thinking it would be nice to make one for each of the grandchildren visiting this Christmas. I went to the craft section of our rinky dink store and found limited packages of colored felt..and it wasn’t wool felt it’s polyester; so I don’t know that it’ll work up well or rip. If it doesn’t work, I’m going to wait to win this stuff and do them up right for NEXT Christmas!

I was just in a yarn shop that had all kinds of creatures about their shelves and tables. It gave me the idea of making lots of creatures out of the felt and crocheting hats, tails or other body parts to attach. Also, I’d like to do a Tree of Life applique with different color leaves. I’d also like to make the little scrappy do leftovers into a new fabric by fusing onto webbing. Maybe a neat little clutch would come out of it.

  37. Posted December 15, 2009 at 3:33 pm | Permalink

oh my goodness……These are absolutely delicious. If I were lucky enough to call them mine I would create an original design that I would applique to showcase those gorgeous colours.
