Award-winning artist and designer Lorraine Torrence travels throughout the United States and Canada, teaching at quilt guilds and conferences, and judging at wearable art and quilt shows. The rest of the time she calls Seattle home. It’s where she and her team work on the two wearable art pattern lines, as well as the quilt pattern line, housed under her company Lorraine Torrence Designs.
We at C&T know her best for her accomplishments as the author of Shifting Perspectives and the co-author (with Jean B. Mills) of Fearless Design for Every Quilter. Visit this Flickr gallery to see a collection of quilt images from Shifting Perspectives.
This week we are giving away a copy of Lorraine’s book Shifting Perspectives as well as a beautiful, Caribbean-inspired mini-quilt pattern from Lorraine Torrence Designs called Sunrise. Two prizes, one lucky winner!
If you want to be in the running for this week’s giveaway blog candy, just visit Lorraine’s online store and leave a comment here or on Facebook telling us the name of your favorite Lorraine Torrence design, and why it is your favorite.
Comments will be closed at 9am PST on Monday 12/7/09 and the winner will be announced later that day!

I have long admired Lorraine Torrence and this give-away is
wonderful!.
Whoever wins is very fortunate.
Thank you CT publishing and Lorraine Torrence.
OOps, didn’t quite finish… I like the Asian style Kimono jacket with the vest option..because it is a style I can wear.
Mandalay Medley – I love the contrast, and the different lengths available. Great pattern – so many options available!
I like Tropical Paradise. The quilt patterns are so colorful and happy.
Lorraine’s designs are all wonderful and especially great when you get to see them (& her) in person. I like the Tropical Paradise quilt pattern the best (although it’s very hard to design on just one pattern) as it’s gorgeous. Exactly like I want my yard to look! :)
I like the Tablecloth Shirt because I have a vintage table cloth that is just waiting to be made into something. I think this could be it! Kathie L. from Allentown
Always love new techniques and meeting new designers. Thanks for keeping us up to date! I like City Wrap just because it is such a flattering pattern for fuller figures. Also liked Sunspots because I’m drawn to curves and soft edges naturally.
me gusta paraiso tropical, los diseños de edredones son los mejores.Las manchas solares, y algo del estilo asiatico.Graciaspor el regalo
I love the native rainbow quilt pattern
Love the colours and the flow. My favourite is the one that sits in the top right hand corner of the home page. It has terrific lines and bold yet scrumptious colours.

Oh, please enter me!
I just wanted to say that I love the colors in the quilt that is shown. I am hoping to do more art quilts this year. I just received my wonderful quilt journal today, so not entering this contest.

I’m quite partial to the urban jacket as it is year-round – and her patterns always look good on us “lumpy” ones!
I love her class act pattern—it is very classy.
Hands down, Tropical Paradise. Before reading the title and just my initial view reminded me of a place in Hawaii my husband and I used to visit when we lived there. You felt taken in by the foilage and the bright colors. I have never heard of Lorraine Torrence, but her work sure looks familiar.
I love Lorraine Torrence Designs and didn’t know she had a book published. My favorite design of hers is the Class Act Ensemble. I would love to have her quilt book. Thanks for the chance.
I love her books. Lorraine is a great teacher too.
