Bohemian Bouquet Quilt Pattern Giveaway

I like to refer to C&T Author Susan Brubaker Knapp as the “pattern queen,” as she creates dozens of patterns to sell on her website and her new release with C&T is a pattern pack called Appliqué Petal Party.

In celebration of her new release, Susan has offered to give away one of her beautiful quilt patterns to a lucky C&T blog reader.  The pattern is called Bohemian Bouquet. Susan describes it as:

flora and fauna frolicking across the surface of this 48″ square (without borders) appliqué quilt. Rich jewel-tone appliqué pops off the black background. I used needleturn appliqué, but this pattern can also be done using fusible web. The pattern is full-sized, and includes detailed general directions, tips, and finishing instructions.

patterns-Bohemian5Would you like to win it? All you have to do is review Susan’s patterns. From purses and bags to quilts and wall hangings, we want to know what floats your boat. Leave us a comment telling us your favorite design from bluemoonriver.com and you will automatically be entered to win.

Comments will be closed at 9am PST on Monday, November 23, 2009. Good luck!

Wow. I would really love to win that BOM pattern in the giveaway. It is truly stunning. What a talented person. I thought when I realized it was the author of Petal Party that applique would be the basis of her patterns. What a surprise to find such diversity. I really was drawn to “Basket of Chocolates”. No, not because I love choc. (I do) but because I’m drawn to trying the basket pattern. It could have a lot of uses in a quilt. Her gallery is mindboggling. Her artistic work and vision has to be seen and read to be appreciated. I plan to do both. Thanks!!

She is a great designer. I have done a lot of work with wool and finished a wonderful wallhanging that everyone admires. It is a lot of work, but so much fun to see when completed. I also do rughooking so I have a great stash to pull from. I hope others will expand their experience and try this great pattern.

Well that’s a tough choice… I LOVE Susan’s art quilts, but from the patterns I’d find it a toss-up between Bohemian Bouquet and Glasgow Rose… I love the combination of circular with square in the latter, especially how the leaves peek out of the circle at the N-S-E-W points on the circle. BUT, I love both foxes and rabbits, so Bohemian Bouquet it must be!

PS–Kudos to both Susan and C&T. Susan’s is the first “pattern packet” I’ve seen and the quality is great…love the extra instructions and helpful photos.

    Cheers, Sarah

I love the Tulip Bag. It is so professional and finished looking and I can do lots of quilting and embellishment on it. And its a great way to use up lots of large fabric scraps.

Well, being an applique addict, I’d have to say that the Bohemian Bouquet is right up there close to the top, but there is something about Petal Party that really speaks to me, even though I really DON’T like PINK!!!! It’s still such a lovely pattern that I could overcome my anti-pinkness. LOL!

What a fun giveaway. Susan is definitely a talented quilter and author. It is difficult for me to pick my favorite of her designs, as I truly love them all. I love her Tulip Bag, and am currently making one. I’d love to make her Polka Party quilt, and I also would love to make her Easy Runner for the holiday season. But By The Sea also looks so yummy, I could eat an entire lobster!

Tough choice! For me it’s a toss-up between “Hearts Desire” (love the contrast with the black background and the hand-dyes) or the Tulip Bag, which has such a unique and fun shape that hides an extra pocket on the outside!

“Hearts of Desire” is TO DIE FOR! This play on a traditional Baltimore Album Quilt is a stunning beauty with its brilliant colors set on a black background. I would use this pattern and make it in hand-dyed wool, one of my favorite mediums. For the background I would use black flannel. I have some brilliant wools that would be fabulous in this pattern! I’m bookmarking her website!

Tough decision but I think my favourite is the dozen hearts bag. It isn’t always the most complicated or involved pattern that appeals to me. Sometimes its nice to make something fun and whimsical and suitable for gift giving. This pattern fulfills all of that plus has a 2nd project to do. Bonus!

I really love the “feel happy” of Good Morning SunShine (mmm… huggs) and the simplistic Pretty of Dozen Hearts. I would include the Tulip bag, but I really don’t ‘do’ bags in real life, although I would make one of two for gifts. However the Bohemian Bouquet is The Superb of all her quilts in my most humble estimation!

Love the” Round Red Barn” pattern … it is a true representation of the great Barn at Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, VT… right down to the rock foundation and the grass growing alongside. Susan has the magical skill of designing both realistically and of adding elements that are definitively her imagination. Her colour sense in bags like ” The Flora Bag” and the detail in her Glascow Rose are brilliant! This designer has a special place in my own design collection and I use her patterns whenever I find them.

Do keep Susan at the top of your list of talented and recognizable artists and I look forward to many more of Susan’s designs in MY collection of quilt projects.
