New C&T author Mary Link has created the perfect way to get your kids involved in fabric crafts with her new book 100+ No-Sew Fabric Crafts for Kids.

This adorable book will provide hours of fun and projects for the little ones in your life. Mary is new to the C&T community so we asked her to share a little about herself and the new book:
I’m always so amazed at how fast the summer whizzes by up here in Minnesota. Now my new book is out and I’m so excited to share some whimsical and fun projects with everyone. I have been working with arts and crafts ever since I was a child and much of my art work is still child-centered. I guess being a mom and a teacher I’m surrounded by the spirited little tykes everyday… what a great source of inspiration! My love of working with no-sew crafting continued all summer as I kept finding more and more cute crafts to make using mostly scraps. Two new projects (not in the book!) that I want to share are featured here.
1. The dragonfly plant marker is made with popsicle sticks and other fun embellishments. The kids “painted” the wood with simple markers. Then they glued on all the parts. The wings are scraps of fabric fused to double sided interfacing, cut, and glued.
2. The silly pirate was used as invitations/toy for my son’s sixth birthday. It is simply fabric scraps fused or appliqued to double-sided heavy interfacing (fast2fuse!!!) I cut an oval shape big enough to fit in an envelope for the body. Then I fused, appliqued and glued (more helpful hints are included in the new book). I used dimes as patterns for the finger holes, and I included party info on the back with simple cardstock… I also had some extras for the kids to play with during the party…super fun… don’t worry, no landlubbers were hurt!

I’ve been looking for some crafty ideas for my three-year old. She wants to do what I do, but she’s still a bit too young. I’m definitely going to check this book out!
Very cute. I’m so frequently looking for ideas for craft projects for kids. This looks perfect.
