Stampington & Company Giveaway!

Stampington & Company is the publisher behind the visually stunning magazines Somerset Studio, Somerset Memories, Art Quilting Studio, Green Craft and more. Even though I have a job that allows me to look at gorgeous project images all day, I am still thrilled every time a new magazine from Stampington & Company comes across my desk. It always leaves me feeling inspired. Usually, I have to guard the magazines with my life because eager coworkers start hovering to get a peak at the new issue.

Because Stampington & Company knows our blog readers are fabulous, talented and ready to be inspired, they have generously donated BLOG CANDY!! We have 2 prize packs to give away. They each contain a 2010 Somerset Studio Calendar

A copy of the premier issue of Art Quilting Studio

and a copy of the premier issue of GreenCraft.

To be in the running to win a Stampington & Company prize pack, leave a comment here by Monday, 9/14 telling us what your favorite Stampington & Company magazine is, and how it has inspired you.

I just bought the recent issue of Where Women Create and really enjoyed the quotes the artists love.I was really thrilled with Art Quilting Studio and can't wait for the next issue.

My favorite Somerset magazine is Take Ten. There are so many fabulous ideas for cards. I am not even a card-maker, but like to use the ideas as inspiration for my textile and mixed media artist trading cards.

Right now, my favorite pub from Stampington & Company is Somerset Memories because I have inherited 3 boxes of very old family photos. I really want to give these photos the attention they deserve while taking care of them properly. I also need help learn to use the digital image programs to work with these photos. Somerset Memories is full of great ideas for keeping our family memories fresh and artistic.

I have never heard of these magazines, which really surprises me, as I subscribe to 17 quilt/sewing related magazines (plus I buy the ones I don’t subscribe to!). Green Craft sounds interesting, although I swore I was never going to jump on the “green” bandwagon. It’s just the marketing of the term “green” that’s getting to me. But I just try to remind myself that the idea behind it is what really matters. I actually had to try out the Quilter’s Dream batting that’s made from recycled plastic bottles! I’m a cotton-batting-only person, but this batting was so incredibly soft that I couldn’t resist at least trying it. I’m sure hand quilters would love it! Anyway, I need to find out more about these magazines…I hate to think I’m missing out on something!

I like how Stampington continually creates new magazines. My tastes evolve over the years and so do their offerings. Current favorites include Where Women Create, Sew Somerset, and Art Quilting Studio. I’m looking forward to what they come up with next!

I am so interested in the art quilting now and combining the old patchwork with the new art. So my favorite is the Art Quilt Studio. I am always looking how to recycle, but I have not seen the Green Magazine, it would be interesting to read. Thanks

My favorite publication is Apron•logy. I have so many vintage fabrcis & handkerchiefs that I used with these projects so this was a great issue for me. It’s also inspired me to be more creative with my sewing and I made some aprons that were quite challenging for me. I also love Green Crafts & haven’t seen this issue yet, though it looks great.

Jenny Doh, editor of Art Quilting Studio, just asked me to write an article based on a piece I was working on and blogged about. The first issue was beautiful and I hope it will get even better and more focused on art quilts, without the cutesy stuff. All their magazines are really high quality but this one is a beauty!
