Cube Sweet Cube

Let’s face it, you’re nosy… (I’ll be honest, so am I, that’s why I read blogs!)

…and you’re not alone. I have a nosy rosy friend, Christina, who asked me to send her pictures of my workspace so she could see where I worked. She said “people love seeing that kind of stuff!”. She’s right! I LOVE when design magazines print stories on different design studios around the country or when our authors share photos of their sewing rooms.

Teresa and Casey have already posted images of their workspaces and I bet you all loved seeing those. Who doesn’t enjoy peeking into someone’s little world? It’s like getting a house-tour from a new neighbor…you learn a lot about someone by what they chose to surround themselves with. So here you go, Christina and all, here’s my little 5′ x 5′ world  at C&T:

The entrance to my cube. I rotate pictures of my little girls (note the ultra-sound image) each month so everyone can see how big she's getting!

Where the magic happens. Note the "Recycle" box under the desk, I'm too lazy to walk pieces of paper over to the recycling bin every time I've got something to get rid of.

My BFF. I love my computer. I don't blame "Putie" for the late deadlines (red=late).

My calendars and latest books. The stack of books is a pile of comp copies of books that I've worked on recently, just haven't gotten around to taking them home yet.

The Notebook. Believe it or not, all these scribbles make sense to me. Also, a little product placement: my dad turns these amazing pens on lathe in his garage. Stay tuned for his Etsy debut!

My "Favorites Wall". The idea was to rotate fun things on this wall as to keep the clutter down, but so far, I've just been adding to it. It's still pretty organized, if I do say so myself :) The cool "KK" was made by one of our PC's in a snowflake-making contest that we held one Christmas season. I LOVE it!

I love all things paper, that's what this wall is pretty much dedicated to. The cool "KK" was made by one of our PC's in a snowflake-making contest that we held one Christmas season. I LOVE it! (one of my nicknames is Double K)

I showed you mine, now let’s see yours!!

My workspace is a disaster compared to yours…. Gotta get busy putting things away and organizing. Tell us you spent 3 days doing that before you took the pics – we will feel so much better! LOL!

You’re right, it is fascinating seeing other people’s spaces. That cat face by Paul Klee has long been a favourite of mine! I once even painted it onto a rollup blind. I’ve this photo of my painting studio a few months after we’d moved and it was all still fabulously tidy. Now it’s less so…

Checked out a book from the library the other day (Diane Phalen quilts) and was super excited to see the C & T publishing logo on the inside page. I think I did a little happy dance. I have been reading your blog for about a month now and it never even registered…I can be a little dense sometimes. I will definitely be on the lookout now! Just thought I would share. It tickled me pink!

Actually Holly, this is how I try to leave my desk each night. I hate a messy desk when I come in to work in the morning…makes me crazy! Usually I spend a little more time picking up on Friday evenings, I believe these shots were taken on a Monday.

Little late adding the comment, we were out looking at colleges for my youngest. (Just wait until those pictures of the girls are their graduations, yikes, it happens so fast. Enjoy each day and picture)
It is fun to see what people choose to surround themselves with. The inspirational pieces, the fun pieces, and how we organize our lives. It is truly fascinating.
Thanks for the peek-”inquiring minds want to know”.
