I have a tendency to "jump" right in to a new technique, without thinking if its more advanced for me or not. Some of the more basic or traditional techniques I haven't tried, because they intimidate me. Do I have it backwards? The weaving and quilting technique definitely has my curiosity piqued.

This technique looks soooo cool! I tend to try everything that catches my eye!

I liked this book so much when I saw it that I have purchased it already. If I win I will add it to my guild's library. Thanks!

Some techniques i jump right in and attempt (and sometimes I even bother to actually READ directions). It also depends on if I'm in the mood for a new gadget and the new technique NEEDS said gadget that I simply can't live without. I'm consistently drawn to beautifully illustrated quilt books though – lots of pretty pictures to see techniques or colorways. Then I'm inspired to go off in my own direction =)

I saw this book last week because the picture on the front caught my eye. Then I read the description of the technique and thought it sounded interesting. So, I ORDERED IT! Should be here soon….

You can always count on CT publications to keep us up to date on new techniques and styles! I flit from project to project so far, not becoming expert at any…maybe one day, the right one will come my way to totally engross me…it seems to do that for others….

I’m always up for trying something new. You never know what might prove to be a great approach or technique that really works for you, and if you don’t try at least once you’ll never find out. Weaving a quilt sounds most intriguing!

  42. Posted August 5, 2009 at 3:25 am | Permalink

I love learning new techniques. If I find one that I particularly enjoy the first time around, I will concentrate my efforts on it to learn all of the ins and outs of it. Then it’s on to the next technique.

I definitely want to see how they did that! I would love to learn all the “angles” on a technique I love. Thanks for the book review.

The most exciting thing about the internet is that new techniques and ideas are published immediately; well before it may turn up in the store. I love seeing what independent sewers and crafters are up to. It inspires me to learn more, do more and be more creative!

This looks way cool. Combining weave, colors and threads. I just love how creative this can be. Add some printed fabric pictures of people , places and things you love with the right colors. Quiet silouhettes and checks! I can just see what my stash can do. The right book for new challenges. I hope I can see it or win one.

I am an Experimenter and I’m PROUD of it! Sometimes I get so wrapped in experimenting that it becomes a deeper exploration – but nothing matches the thrill of a new technique.

I love to try new techniques! Sometimes I will find one that I really like and plan several projects to explore it further – but I am usually distracted by something new before I get very far! I used to weave a bit and this sounds like something I would really enjoy!

Would love to try some more. Would love to have the book. I am working on about 7 different quilts at this time, as I am trying to finish up a lot of ufo’s. Pick Me! Pick Me! Tee hee.
Lots of Love to who ever wins they will really enjoy the book I am sure. Luv Quiltin Queenie
