I was so excited when I turned on the news here in the Bay Area and learned a local mom was using her quilting skills to raise much needed funds for her kid’s school. When I heard how much money was raised, my jaw dropped. Carol Munch has raised more than $300,000 and has even invited the students to participate in the quilt making. Watch the news story here.

We would love to know if you have any similar stories. Have you ever used your creative talents to give to those in need? Tell us your story. You never know who you can inspire and what could come of sharing your talents.

Designer and illustrator Erin Jang created this darling little book for her nephew’s 100-day-old birthday. (His nickname is “Baloo.”) She and her husband wrote a little rhyming story and then Erin illustrated it. She printed each page on adhesive label paper before adhering it to an 8″ x 8″ blank board book. How sweet is that!? I think I may have to do something similar for my little nephews.

Teri, the quilter behind the blog Teri’s Quilting and Knitting…again, recently took a class with C&T author, Jan Krentz. She says her goal for the class was to learn how to piece a lone star. Here is what she worked on during the class:

Do you think she accomplished her goal? Teri plans on entering the quilt in an upcoming guild show. I’m looking forward to seeing the completed project.
