I was so excited when I turned on the news here in the Bay Area and learned a local mom was using her quilting skills to raise  much needed funds for her kid’s school. When I heard how much money was raised, my jaw dropped. Carol Munch has raised more than $300,000 and has even invited the students to participate in the quilt making. Watch the news story here.

Thanks for sharing this! What an inspiration! In my area we have an annual auction to raise funds for the local hospice facility. They collect blocks (or tops, or finished quilts) from whoever wants to participate, and then they assemble the blocks to make pillows, quilts, etc. The auction includes items that local business donate as well. I always look forward to the announcement of which block they’ll be using that year.
