Mirror, mirror on the wall—who’s the fairest of them all?
Lutradur® has become our little Cinderella, and she has many suitors! Everyone at NAMTA is very excited about this new art surface. It was even selected, along with our Color Tool, as a “new favorite thing” by a prince of a NAMTA judge, who presented it at his board meeting tonight. At our demo table, we painted Lutradur with acrylics, watercolors, inks, colored pencils and markers.

Not to be thought of as wicked stepsisters—Timtex®, fast2fuse®, and the Ready-to-Go!® Blank Canvas Books and Blank Board Books were dancing up quite the storm, too. The art store retailers really loved all the models that the talented members of our Creative Troupe designed. Never fear, I’ll have more close-ups of all the fabulous models for you in a couple weeks, after we get them into the studio for a photo shoot!

We had a great time showing off our books on fabric art, papercrafts, art quilting and mixed media techniques—we got people thinking about new classes to offer. The sales reps at MacPherson’s have been very gracious hosts (we are guests in their booth) and they kept us hopping all day, bringing all their customers by to see what’s new. Our friends at ColArt were doing spin art with Liquitex inks in their booth—so fun!

There were several artists painting large canvases throughout the day; it was fascinating to see the progress of their work.

I enjoyed visiting with artist Claudine Hellmuth and the gang at the Ranger Ink booth, this was their first time exhibiting at NAMTA too. Claudine was making really fun rolled bead necklaces with her Studio sticky-back canvas paper.

After the show, we attended a huge reception at the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs. But alas, this fair princess is dying to take off these glass slippers…so I will save the story and pictures of the reception for tomorrow…it includes a funny video I took of a retired racehorse named Perfect Drift; he was showing off for me!
My carriage is about to turn back into a pumpkin, so I must be off!
And we all lived happily ever after…the end.
