Many times before I even get to use my strips my kids get into them and make all sorts of pretend play things with them. They also like to take those and other little scraps and design their own quilts on my design wall. When I get to use them, I like to use them to make x-mas ornaments, totes and of course quilts.

I made a basket using fabric strips several years ago. My sister showed me how to do it and we had a lot of fun. It turned out great. Would like to learn how to make rugs with strips.

My favorite way to use fabric strips is to weave them and making clothing or pillows out of them. I made a vest a few years ago by weaving bias strips made out of my fabric stash. It was by far the most commented-on piece of clothing I have ever had.

I'm a quilter, so the obvious is to say I use fabric strips in my quilts. But I also love to join unusual combinations of strips to create fabric to make other things -- purses, slippers, pillows, placemats, and more!

Making a rail fence quilt can be made quickly with left over strips.
Made a rail fence with one set of reds, whites, and blues and the opposite fence with browns, oranges, and shade of yellow.
Looked great.
My grandson loved it for in the center I put a picture of him as a hockey goalie and applied a hockey stick and puck on one side and a ball and bat on the other half of the quilt.

I most often use them in quilting, but I am beginning a knit rug project, so I would love to win this provocatively titled book.
