Yes, this beautiful Art Quilt was made by a 14 year old, but not just any 14 year old. It was made by our youngest author, Sara Trail.

Sara got the inspiration for this quilt after coming across an art quilt by Micheal Cummings in the book Masters Art Quilts. I can’t wait to see what she can do at 16 years old!
Click here to see a video of Sara sharing her sewing passion with other young people. Sara’s DVD Cool Stuff to Sew with Sara is available now and her book comes out this June.

WOW, Sara! This is gorgeous!
Just wonderful. I love how Sarah used the stripes in the robe. Positioning part of the cross off the quilt MAKES this piece. Although the face is made with only a few fabrics, it shows great expression…. reminds me of Pamela Allen’s faces, too. Sara is going places for sure!
Thanks for the positive feedback on our youngest author. You can read more about her story and inspiration here: http://www.ctpub.com/client/client_pages/media/meetsaratrail.cfm
Sara! We are so proud of all of your hard work! God is blessing you and you have so much to share with the other girls at Grace Temple COGIC! You have not “hidden your talent” but have been diligent sharing it with the other children who count on your helping them learn, sew and create. Never forget to be thankful.
Love,
Mom and Dad
