Come play – all quilters, artists, and crafters are welcome!

You can win $100 worth of fabulous C&T Publishing books and products if your entry is drawn!

Here is your challenge – the entry deadline is February 27th, 2009:

Create a heart-shaped scrapbook layout, ATC, journal page, love letter, greeting card, collage, painting, quilt, fabric art, digital art or mixed media piece. Anything goes, as long as it’s heart-shaped!

Click here if you would like to download a heart template to cut fabric for sewing, or to cut  paper to fit the pages of our Heart Blank Board Book….the perfect album for your heartsy art!  This template is slightly smaller than the board book page, so you can have more fun distressing, stamping or painting the edges of your book.

Visit our Flickr galleries for loads of inspiring photos of designed blank board products! And while you’re there, join the Ready-to-Go! Blank Board group and upload your pics.

I love to “upcycle” thrifted finds, so I recently turned a thrift store sweater into a lacy Valentine pillow and posted a tutorial on my blog–you can find it here:

And because one heart is never enough (although I like the first one best), I made a second pillow from another thrifted sweater:

Here is one of my Valentine cards. I use a tag inside so you don’t have to write on the card itself :=)

I apologize if anyone has had trouble posting a comment. Our spam filter was being a little too good, but it should all be fixed now.

I made a lipbalm for my students’ Valentine gift. I changed it a bit for the challenge. Thanks for the offer.

I made the pink cards for some friends attending Stampfest with me on Valentines day and the red card is for wonderful hubby.
I’ve enjoyed checking out this site, my first visit but not my last.

Here’s a batch of email entries – enjoy!!

We are traveling in southern Arizona right now and I have very limited space in which to work. Our RV is small. I made these hearts for Valentine’s Day. They are string-pieced scraps of fabric that I have stamped, machine-quilted, and lightly stuffed. They were quick to make and easy to mail to friends back home. ~ Sincerely, Pat

I hope you enjoy the cupid playing her heart cello that I painted in watercolors. It was fun to do and did not take long to paint. ~ Ann

My heart quilt is an experiment in different types of applique (the traditionally shaped hearts) and surface embellishments (the wonky shaped hearts). ~ Lisa

For your “heart” contest…part of a wall hanging I am working on presently to celebrate my six children. Cheaper by the half dozen… Each heart represents a specific child, and all hearts were cut out of pieces of clothing they actually wore when they were small. My poor husband thought I was going nuts hoarding all those worn-out clothes. There are 7 bands in all in the wall hanging, with different designs in each, such as, for example, tulips, a 6-point star, etc. ~ Michele

Thanks for looking at my work. ~ Maricel

Here are my pictures of the “Heart and Flower” –fabric cards I made for the swap in the Yahoo Group PostCardMailArt. ~ Sinikka

Thanks for posting my card above. It is so much fun seeing what everyone is creating. Our quilting guild in Napa just did a three heart block of the month and each and every one was different and creative. Happy Valaentine’s Day to all.

Rather a saucy one with black lace. It is made with a varety of techniques including reverse applique and beading.
    Hope you like it !
